Just a couple of blocks from our apartment is a nice park. Earlier this week we headed over to take advantage of the beautiful weather we were having. Rooke loves being outside, so he was content to lay on the blanket and play with his feet while we threw the Frisbee!

At Home
This past week has been wonderful. Ryan got to be home before he started his summer job (today) and class (next week). Rooke loves it when his daddy is home (and I think it's pretty great, too!). We've enjoyed lots of down time and, consequently, took tons of pictures:
Ryan was putting on a DVD and Rooke found the screen. He was captivated. It's scary how young the TV can suck you in!

Laughing!
Rooke has just started laughing! He's only done it a few times, but we were able to catch this moment on video . . .

Oklahoma: Part 2
Mr. & Mrs. Konnor and Tana Martin!
My brother graduated from OBU the day before he got married! I love my siblings, and this picture is nice, but . . . .
. . . this is a better reflection of our personalities!
Rooke got to hang out with the big boys! Our friends have three sons. It was a special treat to spend an afternoon with all five of them.
Everything goes into Rooke's mouth these days. As if Ryan's finger wasn't enough, he was trying to cram his own in there too!
Big Daddy enjoyed showing Rooke off to his friends at the wedding. My dad has been friends with the men in this picture longer than I have been alive, so Rooke's introduction to them was an important occasion! I hope my son learns from Big Daddy and his own Daddy how to keep long-lasting friendships with good men.

Oklahoma: Part 1
My little brother is married! Konnor and his beautiful bride, Tana, got married last Sunday! It was a full and fun week of wedding preparations, OBU graduation, rehearsals, lots of driving and eating and enjoying having all the family together. Rooke made an appearance at the dinner reception and then headed home with Ryan's aunt so we could enjoy the rest of the evening - thank you, Kaydonna! I'm waiting for a few more pictures from the wedding, but these are some of our time together with family leading up to the big day.
Konnor & Tana Martin!
Rooke had special connections and got to take a picture with the Groom!
Auntie Aubyn getting Rooke started on his piano practicing
We spent one night in Tulsa with Ryan's family before heading back to Seattle. Rooke was obviously thrilled to see his Grammy!

Another Trip
We just got back from a trip to Oklahoma. We'll have pictures of the big events soon, but here are a few just for fun.
Rooke and his Uncle Konnor . . .
just after a bath!
His shirt says, "Little Rookie". We usually aren't big fans of people calling our son "Rookie", but for some reason I thought this little onsie was too cute to pass up!

Fingers
This little video goes along with Rooke's discovery of his hands . . . he can't keep them out of his mouth!

Discovery
Rooke loves his hands! He especially likes to suck on them - or anything else he can get a hold of and stick in his mouth.
Kaye-K and Big Daddy gave Rooke this cute outfit that he is finally big enough to wear! I love Rooke's expression.
Rooke and I drove up to Canada this weekend to see Aubyn & Scott and a friend from college. Ryan's first final was on Monday, so it was a good chance to get out of the house and give him some uninterrupted study time.
Us with my friend, Tracy, and her son, Korban, who is so adorable! Korban and Rooke are about two months apart, which makes a noticeable difference now while they are literally changing every day, but in a couple of years they'll basically be the same age. Tracy and I had a good time together swapping Mommy stories and catching up!
Korban's feet are so long! Rooke's is on the right, and Korban's (who is two months younger) is on the left!

Playing
Rooke is getting better at rolling over. I took this picture and then looked up from the camera to find him on his back!
Catching up on the events of the day with Dad . . . apparently they had a lot to say to each other! Rooke gets really excited when Ryan comes home. He wants to stand up and talk and play! These pictures were taken after Ryan's final day of classes as a first year law student. Finals start this Monday, happen over the course of the next two weeks, and then the first year is officially over!
