Photos for Father's Day

For Father's Day this year, we made Ryan a photo book filled with photos and reasons why we love him!  A friend took some photos of the kids and I, and Ryan saw them for the first time in his book.  These were some of my favorites:

End of School

We made it through another year of school!  Rooke was in first grade this year with Mrs. Torres and 15 other six and seven-year-olds.  His school was one of two elementary schools on base and was only a seven minute walk from the house.  We had a few minutes before walking to school on his last day, so I let him be silly with the prop and took some photos.
Congratulations on finishing well, Rooke!  Let the summer fun begin!

Practicing the Discipline of Gratitude {May}

During the month of May, I was thankful for:

1.  A trampoline full of boys

2.  Hearing them giggle together

3.  the day is almost over.  Some days are just like that.

5.  Sleeping beauties
6.  Pre-bed dance party

7.  Tricia and Baby Aubyn are in town!

8.  Moms and muffins with my boy for breakfast at school

9.  Late-night conversations and a variety of snacks with this dear friend

10.  I get to be their mommy

11.  The lilac bush in our backyard started to bloom!  The new flowers remind me of my wonderful mom who always filled our home with fresh flowers and the aroma of Christ with her life.

12.  backyard adventures with a neighbor

13.  Lunch and story time with the always animated and goofy Big Daddy!  My dad is quick to do what he can to please his grandkids.

14.  her confidence in style

15.  a friend who comes over after kids are in bed for some adult conversation AND brings ice cream!

16.  plenty of puddles to splash in

17.  watching him summon the courage to go down by himself.  And, of course, he loved it!

18.  happy playmates!

19.  our first full year of music classes finished!  This girl has accomplished a lot in 30 weeks!

20.  beautiful weather = dinner outside = less clean-up in the house :)

21.  One sister would love to coordinate every day.  The other sister is "not really into matching".  I'm grateful when thy agree to match, and I get to see a happiness from one because she is getting what she wants, and a joy from the other because she knows her sister is happy.

23.  sweet friends to linger with over breakfast

24.  sunshine and friends who like playing with my kids

25.  their daddy who works hard at his job

26.  hearing them scream from the cold water and giggle from so much fun together

27.  she gets a little better every day

28.  fresh flowers in the house

29.  tearing into happy mail

30.  the beginnings of a garden

31.  a perfectly ripe avocado.  And the guacamole that followed shortly!
