The snow stuck around long enough for us to enjoy three days straight of sledding with friends!

Special family dinner for Valentine's Day

Bridgette and friends took "Flat Strider" on a quick trip to see some sights in DC, which of course included hot chocolate

I turned 40!!  Ryan and the kids worked hard to make it a special week for me

Including a surprise visit from Jessie!!  What a sweet gift to spend days with this dear friend who regularly encourages me in her example of living with joy in the Lord

Jessie introduced us to Spam sushi - don't knock it 'til you've tried it!  We liked it enough to buy the special Spam cutter =) 

A special delivery of 40 red roses from my amazing dad, reminding me of his faithful love to me for 40 years, and counting.   

My thoughtful friend made this special music birthday cake for me!

We kicked off the year continuing to enjoy time with Kaye K and Big Daddy, trying out a new hike near Cunningham Falls.

Ryan and I also snuck away for an overnight celebration of our 18th anniversary!

More hiking on a stretch of the Billy Goat trail along the Potomac we hadn't done before. 

By God's grace, we made it to 13 with this guy - Happy Birthday Rooke!

Ryan surprised him at Unitas with burgers for lunch

Birthday dinner!  His annual request of meat pie, and this year we followed it with carrot cake.

A special gift for our teenager!!

We also celebrated the birthday of our sponsor child!
