Ryan's parents have been visiting this month! We packed the car one week and took a trip up North with Edinburgh as our final destination. But we split up the driving with a fun day in York, grateful for the lasting beautiful weather.
We followed Rick Steves' walk through the city, which took us up on the city walls, then grabbed lunch, spent some time in the Castle Museum, stepped inside the Minster Cathedral to hear the choir at evensong, played on the grounds outside the Minster, enjoyed Indian food for dinner, and then hit the road for a couple more hours of driving to our hotel where we transferred sleeping kids to beds and all crashed for the night.

This street has some buildings dating back to the 14th century! You can still see some hooks on display where butchers hung their meat for sale.
She watches her siblings like a hawk, imitating whatever they do. Her brother likes to play with sticks!
I like to bring my own show while traveling, just in case the sights aren't that exciting.
Ok. I admit it. I'm part of the show.
This photo cracks me up and could probably be used to best communicate some of the moments we have on family trips!
She woke up at 7am, didn't sleep all day, then finally passed out on the drive to the hotel. Her smiles and overall happy disposition made it hard to tell she had been awake for the longest day of her life.
