Two Months!

Bridgette has been with us for two whole months!  It's amazing how much she has changed in such a short amount of time.  We get lots of smiles now, and she's starting to "talk", which is a soothing sound for me during the constant state of motion I seem to live in.  The dishes can wait when my baby girl is ready to smile and talk with me!  We have her two-month appointment next week, so we'll get all the stats, but she is finally starting to grow out of some clothes.  The two of us stick pretty close together these days.  I love our beautiful Bridgette.

The Bathtub Menu

The kids went "swimming" in the bath tub one rainy afternoon.  They like to cook while they take a bath.  Running a restaurant is serious business.

Our Favorite Nana

My Nana came for a visit last week!  She is one of my favorite people and I cherished getting to spend time with her and introduce her to Bridgette!  She stayed with us over the weekend and we all had a great time together.  The kids warmed up to her quickly and after a few hours of playing, I was convinced I would have to hire a babysitter to get any time with her myself!  We just stayed up late instead.  Nana brought lots of fun goodies for the kids and spread them out over the weekend so they always had something new and fun to play with or read.  Her thoughtfulness and creativity were inspiring.

We spent most of Saturday out and about.  The morning was spent riding on the Nene Valley Railway

I love my new phone!  It's been fun capturing moments that I otherwise would have missed if my phone weren't within reach . . .

The Tree

When we moved in to our house, there was a humongous tree in our backyard.  As of last week, that tree is no more.  I was a bit sad to see it go, since it was a very old tree and one of the biggest in the area.  But the trunk had been damaged several years ago, the over-arching limbs were too close to the house, and now we get more morning sun shinning through (when it does!) during breakfast (not to mention that gone are the days of disgusting bird droppings all over the yard).  

The kids and I were mesmerized with the tree surgeons.  We spent most of our day watching the men from the windows, going from the upstairs to the downstairs and back again, trying to keep the best view.  

It took one day to bring the tree down and another to haul everything away.  Rooke took advantage of the workers taking a break and played in the sawdust as if it were fallen leaves!  The trunk is hidden in the shadow below.

Siblings

It started with Bridgette just laying on a blanket.

Sip-N-See

My sweet friend, Courtney, offered to host a sip-n-see for Bridgette and I.  It was a lovely time of getting to show off our little girl and hang out with some great women.

Courtney is a fantastic host.  She pulled out all the stops for our morning in her home.  You can be sure you'll be seeing some of the deliciousness that was served on my food blog!

I love living close enough to my mom that she can drive up for this sort of thing.  It was so special to have her there, celebrating Bridgette, helping with the big kids, and getting to meet some of my friends.  

I didn't get many pictures of all the ladies that came (I was too busy enjoying conversation!), but this is a shot of the women from our home group at church (including Courtney, the host, on the far right).  I am so grateful for the support I've received from these friends.
